DeArmon Batty was the accompaniast. They were so excellent, we could have listened listen-ed to them all day. This week congratulations go to Mildred Talkington, Laura Luck and as I mentioned Ella Ainge for marking off another year on their calendars. Elma and Cliff Smith had their 58th wedding anniversary Tuesday. If you missed the dance Friday, you really lost out. The Friendly Club of Salt Lake City, a senior citizen dance club brought 44 of their members on a bus to join our fun. Some others came in their own cars making about 50 visitors all together. When they got there, I thought, 50 strangers! but I've decided I know why they call that the Friendly Club. By the time the evening was over, there wasn't a stranger on the dance floor Refreshments were served at intermission in-termission and Mr. and Mrs. Eggert, the leaders of the Salt Lake group, spoke a few words to the crowd. All those charming folks said they'd come back and see us again and when they do maybe they'll teach us the "Hustle. That's a clever little specialty dance they did. All of us sang "Happy Birthday" Bir-thday" to that beaming newlywed Thelma Taylor. And, speaking of newlyweds, don't forget Vera Hall and George Murray's wedding dance Thursday the 21st at the Maeser Stake Center and, of course, the regular dance on Friday at the Center. The Harmony Har-mony Four will play for both. |
