Utah Conservatory Students in Recital Friday evening, at the Utah Conservatory Conserva-tory of Music, some of the students of Professor J. J. McClellan and Professor A. C. Lund appeared in a creditable recital, re-cital, attended by a considerable number of invited guests. Special mention for excellence of rendition is to be made of Miss Lois Shermer's playing of the Liszt rhapsody and of Miss Beulah White's singing of Gounod's "Sing. Smile. Finale "Star Spangled Banner" Tabernacle Choir's t Photograph Is Taken Last Thursday night's rehearsal of the Salt Lake tabernacle choir was one of the best attended in several weeks. The singers spent the evening in rehearsal of the chorus, "Hallelujah to' the Father" (from Beethoven's "Mount of Olives";, and some good work was done on the threat composition. One of the factors in bringing out nearly- the full membership of the organization was undoubtedly the fK't that before adjournment the choir V.-ph for a big flashlight photograph, the riVnduction of which will he used in -;;siVn publications in connection with Four Concerts at the Post This Week Four free concerts of merit will be Kiven at Fort Douglas this week bv the Twentieth infantry band, under' the leadership of A. Goetz. Since the opening open-ing of the season the Sunday morning crowds have steadily grown in volume and the attendance at the afternoon programmes pro-grammes likewise increases. I Thursday afternoon's concert will be I featured by a special number for trombones, trom-bones, a "rag-i-ty rag," entitled "Slip- pery Ike." Cannon will present his pupil, Mian Gladys Peterson, in a complimentary complimen-tary piano recital at the Weber Junior college, Ogden, Monday evening May 13 Miss Peterson recently played 'the Liszt li flat concerto, with orchestral accompaniment, accom-paniment, with success at the L. D S school of music recital in the the Assembly Assem-bly hall. Some of the leading musicians of the city, who heard her on that occasion, oc-casion, declared her to be a promising pianist. Miss Peterson will be assisted in her Ogden recital by Professor A. C. Lund director of the Salt Lake tabernacle choir.
