Show ALLEGES ASSAULT BY Ml KFRIEiEO Cigar Store Owner Accuses Missing Companion of Deadly Attack. Lying in a pool of his own blood, Charles Krouau, 36 years old, awoke at 10:30 o'clock yesterday morning in his room at the James hotel, and discovered discov-ered that he had been the victim of a murderous assault made while he slept, presumably by a man whom he has for several weeks befriended. The police are looking for Charles Barr, his alleged assailant. He was hurried to the emergency hospital hos-pital by Sergeant J. H. Warden and Patrolman A. D. Murphy, where he was foundjto be suffering from twenty deep scalp wounds inflicted with a heavy monkey wrench. While his skull was not fractured, his condition is deemed critical from loss of blood.
