Show WEST JUNIOR HIGH RED CROSSJMEMBER Membership Greater Than Necessary to Secure Unit Is Registered. In its effort to secure the membership member-ship necessary to qualify as a unit of the Junior Red Cross, the west Junior hih school went beyond the goal they had planned to reach. The drive was planned as a four-day campaign, under the direction of Captains Misses Birch, Greenwood and Gaby, with lieutenants heading smaller divisions. Three armies, the Red, White and Blue, put forth strenuous efforts in going "over the top," first with a full quota membership. Their progress in the race was graphically represented .by giant thermometers in the hallways, indicating in-dicating the position of each army. Featuring the campaign was the' rousing rous-ing speeches given daily by minute men, the singing of war songs by the school glee club and the dramatization of military activities, especially that of Red Cross work. One feature winning the interest and approval of visitors was the war exhibit or views, relics; flags, letters and pictures pic-tures of the various camps. The exhibit was under the direction of Miss Bancroft, Ban-croft, Miss Gertrude Arbuckle, acting general of a highly successful campaign. |
