The alluring business of hunting the Hun Is the answer. Practically every major league club is represented In the list of American and National leaguer with the army or navy, and as the wheels of Cncle Sam's war machine continue to grind the list will grow. The American league, with an average of younger players than the National, is represented by more men, and three clubs in the junior circuit can boast upward up-ward of five service stars. The upheaval In Red Sox ranks caused by enlistments has almost completely changed the complexion of the club, while enjjgtmentB, coupled with the sale of -jayers by Connie Mack. ' have changed the scenery of the Athletics as complete-f complete-f ly as if the club had been wiped off the map by a tornado. Boston's American league club Is. represented rep-resented under the national emblem by .lack Barry, Duffy Lewis, Ernie Shore, Harold Janvrln, Del G-alnor. McNally, Walsh, Pennock and Bader. Cleveland has lost Louis Gulsto, Jack DuBarry, Jack Petty, a pitcher; George Dickerson, Chet Torkleson and Elmer Smith. Pitchers Pitch-ers Ehmke and Oldham, and Players Hollywood, Nicholson, Fuller, Alton and Baker, most of whom are recruits, represent repre-sent Detroit. Bob Shawkey, Ray Fisher, Small wood and Kane of the Yankees; Menosky, Leonard and Murray of the Senators; Fincher, Sloan, Koob and Jacobson of the Browns; Scott, Jenkins, Payne and Von Kolnltz of the White Sox, and Haley, Anderson, Bates, Johnson, Noyes, Siebold, Sharman, Witt and Murphy of the Athletics, are all American league players with the colors. The Dodgers have Chuck Ward, Leon Cad ore, Sherrod Smith, Malone, Kelleher, Mil jus and Fitzsimmons in the service, either army or navy. Hank Gowdy, Rabbit Maranvtlle, Rico and Schreiber, of the Braves; Morris Rath, of the Reds; Jack Miller, Goodwin, Currie and Knight, of the Cards; Kelly, Balrd and Jones, of the Giants; Warner, Flynn and Boeckel, of the Pirates, and Rixey, of the Phillies, have heard the call.
