Show YANKS HAVE HEAVY SLUGGERS ON CLUB "It is quite a problem trying to discover how I can best arrange my batting order," or-der," saifi Miller Huggins recently, "but I surely prefer to have too many sluggers than none at all. I have four men who have filled the clean-up position on various vari-ous bail clubs Baker for the Athletics, Pipp for the Yankees, Pratt for the Browns and Borlie for both the White Sox and Athletics. Pratt is the fastest of the lot, and, of .course, his speed will play a prominerit part in any decision that I may reach. It will be quite a treat to see that flock of sluggers in action on one of those big days when everybody seems able to meet the ball. A pitcher who has to face these four sluggers and a dangerous danger-ous hitter like Peckinpautrh certainly will have no picnic in close games." |
