Railway fare of one cent a mile, including war tax, may be granted to enlisted soldiers and sailors by Director General McAdoo within a short time, according to William Wil-liam E. Golden, an attorney, who returned re-turned today from Washington after a conference with tho director general. gen-eral. The reduced rate. Many of them, owing to their small" pay as enlisted en-listed men and the great distances they have to travel, find this difficult under un-der the present railway rates. Mr. Golden filed a petition with Director Di-rector General McAdoo bearing names of 50,OQO Chicagoaus asking for the reduced re-duced rates. |
