Show FEW WOMEN ENROLL NAMES ON LAST DAY May Call Mass Meeting to Explain Government Gov-ernment Needs and Hold Another Registration. Registration for women for government govern-ment service was light yesterday, only twenty-five having enrolled at Walker Brothers booth, fourteen at Keith-O'Brien's Keith-O'Brien's and eight at Z. C. M. T. In many cases, it is said, young women wom-en were turned away from the booths because they did not understand the needs of the government and had not been given their parents' consent to be enrolled. According to Mrs. Clara W. Beebe, who had charge of the booth at the Z. C. M. I., the matter of enlisting the assistance as-sistance of women should be explained thoroughly by competent speakers at a mass meeting to be called in the near future. A meeting to discuss registration will Ije held by members of the women 's council of defense the early part of this week. |
