CLARON CLA-RON NELSON of the aviation section, signal reserve corps, United States army, leaves this afternoon for Camp Dick, Dallas, Texas, after stopping stop-ping hprc a few days visiting hi?" motn- j er, Mrs. A- C. Nelson, of 840 Park j street. Lieutenant Nelson came from North Island, San Diego, last Wednesday, Wednes-day, after having completed his flying fly-ing course at tliat station. I'revious to attending t he flying school at North ! Island. Lieutenant Nelson graduated from the ground school in Berkeley, Cal. The young man was a member of the 145th field artillery before being transferred to the aviation branch. He has already done three months of actual flying unassisted, and before leaving North Island acted as an instructor for some time. Lieutenant Nelson is a graduate of the Salt Lake high school and attend-ed attend-ed the University of Utah three vears. The call to the colors prevented his graduation from that institution this year. Two of his brothers, La Mar and Clifford, are also in the aviation service, ser-vice, the former being in FraDce. |
