Show GLOBE EXPECTED if j BE PRODUCER SOOW Outlook at Bog, Bay State and South Park Is Encouraging. Special to The Tribune. AMERICAN FORK. May 11. John Cleghorn, manager of the Globe Consolidated Con-solidated Mining company, went up to the property Wednesday on a trip of inspection. in-spection. The force there is making good progress and the ore encountered just before the suspension of work last fall is opening up in good shape. Plans for extensive development at this property are well under way and it is expected that it will be a steady producer in a short time. George E. Hemphill, G. M. Dwyer and Joe Crosby of Salt Lake and J. Watt Storrs of this city made a trip to the canyon Sunday. Mr. Crosby, Mr. Hemphill Hemp-hill and Mr. Dwyer visited the Bog property, prop-erty, and Mr. Storrs stopped at the Bay State. At the Bog the face of the lower tunnel shows considerable mineralization. Just as soon as the road is open from the Pacific to the Bog teams will begin hauling the ore which is piled on the dumps of the upper workings. The work at the Bay State is progressing progress-ing in good shape. Drifts to the east and the north are being run from the bottom of the winze, which has been sunk to a depth of eighty feet. The east drift is in a black "churty" crystallized lime, which Is impregnated with manganese and iron carbonates, and looks like it would make into the ore at any shot. Manager Tyler is much encouraged and expects to open up a nice bunch of carbonate ore on this level. Between fifteen and twenty four-horse teams are busy hauling ore and concentrates concen-trates from the Pacific to the railroad. State Senator John H. Wootton, manager man-ager of the South Park, visited the property prop-erty the early part of the week. He reports re-ports work progressing satisfactorily and that the ore encountered last fall is holding hold-ing out in fine shape. There was a small slip encountered about ten days ago but this has been cut through and the ore is coming in again. County Road Commissioner Argyle and Road Foreman Forbes were up the canyon Sunday making an inspection of the road and outlining tho improvements to be made this season. It is expected that work will be done on the road, putting it in good shane from the mouth ' of the canyon to the Dutchman flat. The main thing needed, Mr. Argyle says, is the widening of the road and construction of more turnout places. |
