Show WORK RESUMED AT SHOWERS COW. Property Under Lease to Dern and Griggs; Product Goes to Tintic Mill. Special to The Tribune. EUREKA, May 11. Preparations axe now being made tor a rather expensive campaign of work at the property of the Showers Consolidated company, In the southern end of the district, on which the Dern-Griggs Leasing company has a lease. Those interested in this particular particu-lar lease are George H. Dern, C. C. Griggs and E. R, Hibbenson, and the last mentioned men-tioned will look after the mining operations opera-tions at the Showers. The ore, which is principally of low grade, will be sent to the plant of the Tintic Milling company at Silver City. The workings of the Showers mine below be-low the 300-foot level are under water and for that reason the work of the leasing leas-ing company will be confined to the 300 level and the levels above. A small gasoline gaso-line engine has been installed, a new gallows gal-lows frame put into place and some re-timbering re-timbering done in the main shaft. At the time the Showers was In operation op-eration some years ago the higher-grade ore was pretty well cleaned out in the upper workings, but a lot of milling ore was left, there being no market for it at that time. Now this ore is of value, as it runs well in silver, and it is thought that it will be possible for the teasing company to make some money and at the same time give the mill a very desirable grade of ore. The ore will be hauled by team. to the mill, a'distance of four miles. One shipment has already been made. |
