Show There's an old superstition that a howling dog In front of the house of an ill person portends death. One prominent physician believes absolutely absolute-ly in it. 'This physician has a wonderfully wonder-fully acute sense of smell. Frequently, Fre-quently, ho says, ho can foretell the coming of death within forty-eight hours of a patient's demise. Within two days of death, ho says, a peculiar earthy odor becomes noticeable about a person about to die. Ho tells of one case where he became awaro of the peculiar odor whllo talking to an apparently healthy man. That night the man dropped dead of heart disease. dis-ease. Tho physician Is far from attributing attri-buting tho peculiar manifestation to other than physiological reasons. His own sense of smell Is abnormally acute. New York Press. |
