Show STATE NEW STRIKE AT WEST QUINCY ledge gives every indication of being in place park city aug ac the strike at the west quincy Is holding out well and the ledge gives every indication of being in place and the ore permanent an assay of the ore shows ounces of silver 18 per cent lead and gold the character of the ore resembles very much that of the quincy and it is thought by many to be the quincy vein at depth the presence of ore in one of the new properties in the bonanza flat country means a great deal to this camp as it has always been the theory of mining men that this section contained some big mines it they could only be developed at benth it the ore in the west quincy holds out as is expected a great deal of activity will be noticed about the other properties in the vicinity this fall the work of repairing the engine at the daly west Is being rushed as rapidly as possible but it will probably be a week before the machine lg in running order again in the meantime all the work ta the mine la be ing carried on above the foot level and the ore hoisted through the old quincy shaft the mill Is running ahree shifts as usual and the output of toe alna will not be greatly lessened as a result of the smashup smash up A point has been reached in the clearing of the cave in the ontario tunnel where the greatest care has to be taken to protect the workmen from the probability of the water breaking through the cave the protection of the lives of the workmen has been the first consideration of the management and while it regards retards the work to a degree it Is thought better to take no chances on the loss of life the tunnel Is now clear to a point feet from ita mouth and it la known that there are feet of bad ground ahead how much of this has caved it Is impossible to ascertain but in all probability there Is a great pile of dirt yet to be removed before the tunnel is clear an attempt will be made to drive pipes through the cave in an effort to drain off some of tho water which is being held back and flooding the mine HER VALUABLES HAVE provo aug 16 sheriff harman and county attorney anderson have been busy for the last two days investigating
