Show RETIRING MANAGER GUEST AT BANQUET Henry Wallace of the Na-tdona Biscuit Company Given Affectionate Farewell by Employees, Eighty emplo3'ees of the National Biscuit company in Salt Lake gathered at the factory last night at a banquet in compliment to Henry Wallace, who is retiring as manager of the institution after thirty years of service. Mr. Wallace was manager of the plant when it was known as ths Utah Cracker factory, then later, when its ownership was vested in tho American Biscuit company, and for the last sixteen six-teen years under which it has been a branch of the National Biscuit company. com-pany. Besides being in the nature of an affectionate af-fectionate farewell to Mr. Wallace from the employees of the company, the banquet also served as a greeting to the new manager, Mr, Wallace ?a son, George H. Wallace. Thomas L. Woodbury, city salesman, was toastmaster. He ' voiced the well wishes of the force to Henry Wallace, and Mr. Wallace responded in kind. The retiring manager was presented with a gold-headed cane by his employees, em-ployees, Jesse Fox making the presentation presen-tation speech. The new manager, George H. Wallace, was toasted by Miss Ada Lumsden or the office force, and Wilber Harvey toasted A. W. Green, president of the National Biscuit company, in New York, Greetings in behalf of the saies- men on the road were extended by Jesse Carver of Ogden. There were short talks by William P. Wallace and others, and numerous musical numbers were given during the evening. |
