Show schools oe nunc TO OPEN TUESDAY Consolidation Plan and Junior High School System Sys-tem Will Be Tried. Rr.'REKA, Bept. 4. The schools of Tfa-tio Tfa-tio district will open for the year's work cn Tuesday, September 7. This le th first year under the new consolidation plan and everything Is in readiness for a year of successful work. In connection with the consolidation plan, the Junior high school system li also being adopted. One of ihee schools 1 being organized at Mammoth and one at Eureka. This provides for the organization organiza-tion of the seventh, elghih a nd ninth grades Into a junior High school which hae two definite alms. The first of these Is to provide a more gradual transition from the grade school methods to high school me;hods for the boys and glrU who contemplate con-template finishing high school. The second sec-ond aim it, to better prepare for life those pupils who are so unfortnnate as not to be able to rornplete the high school course. The pupil who completes the junior high achool will be much more efficient than the pupil who completes only the eighth grade, and It will require only one year longer. The junior high school will be fully equipped for all the work given and will be taught by teachers who are qualified, to teach in the regular high school. All pupils in the district should report for enrollment on Tuesday, September 7, and. for regular work on Wednesday. Wells, George S. Sanders, Lois Stoddard, Grace Sommerville. Anna George, Bess Bearss, Mary Sullivan, Maude Layton. Jessie Swift, Hyrum Jenkins, Crissle Steadman, Pearl Treloar, Mrs. C. H. Ristlne, H. E. Smith, Anna B. Marwick, Ella Galsford, May Fitzgerald, Dorothy Miller. Beulah ' Bacon, Josie Kelly, AnabI Mooney, Anna Clark, Hazel Irvine, Lou Murphy, Anna. Sullivan. Helen McCarthy, Eliza Bonner, Tone Gates, Maude Stone. Bula Boyle, R. W. Neebit, Bert Sutherland, Eliza Som-mervill, Som-mervill, Louise Davidson, Pearl RaddatiS, Edna Jones, Genevieve S-ullivan, Nellie M. Hawkes, Fay Brenton. The various school buildings at Eureka, Mammoth and Sliver City have been thoroughly thor-oughly renovated and improvement In many places have been made. At the Pllver City school some very important changes have been made. A new heating heat-ing system, a ventilating system, sanitary sani-tary toilets and drinking fountains have been installed. The ventilating equipment Is operated by a four-horsepower motor, which completely changes the air in the building everv few minutes. |
