A threat of boycott against all American-made goods" unless Joseph Hillstrom, Hill-strom, under sentence to be shot October Oc-tober 1 for the murder of J. G. Morrison Mor-rison is released immeidately, is contained in a letter received at the office of the governor yesterday from Boulder City, West Australia. It is signed br Reeve, national organizer of the Industrial Workers of the World in Australia, and representatives of the following labor organizations: Boilermakers' Boiler-makers' union, Amalgamated Society of Hngineers. Boulder Miners' union, Amalgamated Society of Carpenters, Tramway & Railway Employees, .Surface .Sur-face Workers ' union. Australia Workers Work-ers ' union, Post & Telegraph union of Australia, Australian Shop Assistants ' union and the Federated Mine Workers Work-ers of Australia. This is but one of several hundred letters now on file in the governor's office demanding the release of Hill-strom, Hill-strom, who was prominently identified with the L W. W. Some of them have threatened the governor with personal harm if Hillstrom is allowed to go to his death, others have merely pleaded for a new trial for the condemned but this is the first to threaten international complications on his behalf. According to the letter, a resolution has been adopted at numerous meetings meet-ings throughout Australia, representing a majority of the working classes, threatening to boycott all American goods until Hillstrom is restored to liberty. |
