" , " - ZEESPS MEMOHr COMES TO RESCUE Detective Recognizes Suspect Sus-pect Whom He Has Not Seen for Long Time. Tvro men were picked up yesterday afternoon by Detectives Seager and Lyon. Their only offense seemed to be poverty, but they could not explain their movements, so they were taken to tho station and booked on suspicion. The facos of the men looked familiar to Detective W. C. Zeese. He studied one of them closelv as the desk sergeant wrote the names, J. A. Blake and .T. J. Hillard, on the book. As the men were being taken to the cell room he nodded to the man calling himself Blake and said: ".Hello, Socks Parrv." The man .jumped a little, then replied: "Hello, Zeese. Some memory! "Socks" Parry, alias .T. A. Blake, alias Walter Perry, is said bv the police po-lice to be the man who was with Gladvs "Wkitney wbrn she is said to have robbed a man named Deal of Denver of $10,000 in diamonds in the Metropole hotel. r With Parry at the time of his arrest yesterday was a man giving his name as J. J. Hillard. He is not known to the local police. The men will be held nntil their movements in Salt Lake have been traced and then if nothing can be found against them they will in all probability probabil-ity be given an opportunity to leave town. |
