FIRE PREVENTION DAY MAY BE KEPT A tetter received yesterday from the secretary of the National Safetv Federation, Federa-tion, New York, by John James, state insurance commissioner, urges that Mpn be taken to have October 3 observed "as fire-prevention day. This date Is the forty-fourth anni versa ry of the Chicago fire and an effort Is being made to have It observed throughout the United States Since a flre-preventlon day Is observed every year In this state. Commissioner James Is inclined to believe that thl date will probably be decided upon this year and named In the usual proclamation proclama-tion of the governor.
