Ashton and Francis D. Rutherford Form Partnership. Raymond J. Ashton, Salt Lake practicing practic-ing architect before going to Chicago, has returned after three years in the east. Franels D. Rutherford and Mr. Ashton have formed a partnership for the general practice of architecture and landscape garden in ?. Mr. Rutherford, In the last twelve years, has designed and supervised the construction construc-tion of .some of the city's most noted commercial buildings, schools, churches and residences. While in the east Mr. Ashton was em- ployed as draftsman and designer in some of the best of Chicago's offices. lie waa with Mr. -Perkins when the latter was awarded a gold medal for the best work displayed at the annual architectural architec-tural exhibition. For a wider experience he entered the office of H. C. Dangler, ranked highest of Chicago's residential architects. When the war halted nonessential building, Mr. Ashton entered the architectural archi-tectural department of Armour & Company, Com-pany, and, after three months, was made chief designer of branch houses throughout through-out the world. In conjunction with these experiences, Mr. Ashton studied at the Heaux Arts School of Architectural Design De-sign and the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. For the last year he was secretary secre-tary and a director of the Chicago Architectural Archi-tectural club. Mr. Rutherford and Mr. Ashton are native t'tahns and have been connected with architecture and its allied arts throughout their lives. They will practice under the firm name of Rutherford Ruther-ford & Ashton. |
