Show I OGDEN f 4- OGDEX, May 24. Mrs. L. F. KneipP e liter tained the members of the Five Hundred club and a few additional g"ueyts at her home this afternoon. The rooms were fragrant with roses, and following the card srames a luncheon was served. The Ladies' Literary club met Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon with Mrs. Claude Zinn-' Zinn-' Mrs. Arnold Bowman gave a current magazine review and Mrs. S. N. Fulton ! rea, a paper on "Utah Writers." The Sacred Heart alumnae will give a stiver tea tomorrow afternoon from 5 until 8 oVIock on the academy lawn, for the benefit of the new Sacred Heart infirmary, in-firmary, which has just been complete 1. A large number of the alumnae from the surrounding states will be in attendance. Patriotic colors, combined with flowers, will be used in the decorations of the lawn and tea table. Presiding at the tea table will be Mrs. Julia Kiesel Mc-Oinley, Mc-Oinley, Mrs. Nellie Healy Lynch, Mrs. Marguerite McNulty Morrissey. Mrs. Ella O'Neill Eallantyne, Miss Cecil Kagan and Miss Cassie McLaughlin. Captain and Mrs. Royal Nopgrle, who are visiting in this city, en route to Honolulu, Hono-lulu, were the complimented guests at a beautifully appointed dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Bristol Thursday evening at the Country club. One long table was decorated with silver baskets filled with pink peonies. The place cards and nut dishes were also in pink. The guests included Captain and Mrs. Noggle, Mr. and Mrs. Chapin A. Dav, Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Klrkendall, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Buchmiller, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Bowman, Bow-man, Mr. and Mrs, J. David Larson of Salt Lake, Mrs. L. R. Eccles, Mark Murphy Mur-phy and C. R. Holllngsworth. The Junior class of the high school gave its annual junior prom Friday evening at the Berthana, In honor of the senior class. More than 600 high school students stu-dents and their friends were in attendance. attend-ance. Music was furnished by the Lillian Thatcher orchestra. The program Lore the class emblem in gold. During the evening punch and mint wafers were served. Hess entertained the Sempre Musical club Tuesday afternoon. M rs. T. Don Beason read a paper on "New American Music." Vocal selections selec-tions were given by Mrs. Melba Jones and Mrs. C. H. Stevens and piano selections selec-tions by Mrs. Oscar Russell. Mrs. John Culley gave current events. Miriam chapter No. 14, O. E. S., gave the last of a series of teas Monday afternoon after-noon from 3 until 5 o'clock, in the Masonic Ma-sonic clubrooms. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Bristol entertained enter-tained at an Orpheum theater party Friday Fri-day evening of last week in honor of Lieutenant L, F. Koschwitz of New York City, a guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Kneipp. Lieutenant Koschwitz also was the guest of honor at an informal dinner given by Mrs. L. R. Eccles, Saturday evening eve-ning of last week, at the Country club, followed by a dance at the Eccles home. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Kneipp, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Bristol, Mr. and Mrs. Kirkendall. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Buchmiller, Miss Marian Browning and Miss Dorothy Wright. The Drama club met this afternoon at the Conservatory of Music, when officers were elected for the ensuing year. A musical program was rendered by Mrs. George W. Bo rlow and Miss Ida Anderson. Ander-son. Miss Esther Harris and Miss Zelta Ballinger were the hostesses. Mrs. Joseph A. Ferraro presented four of her advanced pupils in a piano recital Tuesday evening at her studio in the Hudson building. The junior class of the high school presented pre-sented the following three one-act plays at the school auditorium Thursday evening eve-ning for the purpose of raising funds for the annual junior prom, which was held the following evening at the Berthana: "Overtones," "The Burglar" and "The Monkey's Paw." Mrs. Lucian A. Ray entertained the Child Culture club at the University club Thursday afternoon. Mrs. J. C. Lynch gave an interesting bonk review and Miss Dorothy Wright sang a number of vocal solos. A simple wedding took place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. H. B. Denkers, when her daughter, Bessie, became the bride of John A. Jansen. The ceremony was performed by Bishop J. W. Ure in the presence of the immediate families. The couple will spend a short honeymoon in Salt Lake and will be at home in this ciiy after June 1 at 476 Twenty-second street. The Royal Purple club was entertained Monay evening by Mrs. Keyes, S73 Twenty-fourth street. Mr. and Mrs. James A. Calvert announce an-nounce the engagement of their daughter, daugh-ter, Alta. to Mark Thackeray of Craydon. The wedding will take place in the Salt Lake temple early in June. Mrs. C. L." Fan- entertained the Beaux Esprit club Friday afternoon. The senior class of the Weber Normal college presented the play, "Strenuous Life," at the college auditorium Monday evening. The W. C. T. U. met Wednesday with Mrs. H. P. Hantz. At a meeting of the Historical society held Saturday afternoon of last week at the home of Mrs. ,T. R. Mrs. George Farley is visiting in Logan Lo-gan with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rose. Mr. and Mrs. Miles A. Romney, who have been visiting at the home of Mrs. Romney's mother, Mrs. David Eccles, for several months, left Thursday for Los Angeles. Frank Browning, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Browning, returned Sunday from France, where he has been in the aviation avia-tion branch of the service for the past eighteen months. Mr. and Mrs. Ferrymore Decker and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Decker motored to Ogden from Salt Lake Wednesday and spent the day with relatives. Lieutenant L. F. Koschevitz returned the first of the week to New York city, after a brief visit in Ogden with his sister. sis-ter. Mrs. L. F. Kneipp. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur G.
