Show Golden Years Center activities for Dec. listed The Golden Years Center continues contin-ues to present special entertainment for the remainder of December. The combo band at the Golden Years, directed by Ed Earl, is requesting re-questing a lead horn player. Anyone who will join this band to play a horn is asked to come in and join this group which provides entertainment enter-tainment for those who come to the Center. The band rehearses every Wednesday Wed-nesday at 10:30 a.m. and plays for dancing or other special occasions. Members dance the last Thursday of each month after lunch. Call the Center, 295-3479, for further information. in-formation. Any senior citizen is welcome. There were 79 volunteers of the Golden Years Center entertained at a Christmas luncheon Dec. 1 1 in the Center. There are 101 men and women who do volunteer work and those present at the luncheon had given more than 50 hours of service for 1988. On Dec. 21, the Woods Cross boys' and girls' choirs will provide Christmas music during the lunch hour. Vern Pickering will entertain on the organ during the lunch hour on Dec. 22. The Center will be closed Dec. 26. On Dec. 30 there will be dancing danc-ing and a New Year's Eve buffet lunch at noon. Make reservations for this buffet. Membership in the Golden Years Center will be $10 for 1989 and all senior citizens are urged to take a membership for the year. The funds from the membership help take care of some of the expenses at the Center. All senior citizens are urged to get a membership. There is Bingo every Monday and Wednesday following lunch for all those who enjoy this recreation. The staff at the Center wishes all a happy holiday and a good new year. All senior citizens are invited to enjoy the many activities at the center and enjoy lunch. Be sure to make reservations the day before you plan to attend, kj |
