Show Mary J. Rencher FARMINGTON - Mary Johan-nah Johan-nah Hughes Rencher, 87, passed away Dec. 19, 1988 in Bountiful. Born Nov. 27, 1901 in Farming-ton, Farming-ton, to Jonathan and Minnie Chris-tenscn Chris-tenscn Hughes. Married John Ump-stead Ump-stead Rencher July 23, 1924 in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away June 28, 1984. Mary graduated from Davis High School with honors; graduated from the University of Utah. Loved education edu-cation and reading, spent her life teaching English, speech, debate and drama. Was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Had previously served as stake and ward Young Women's president. Mary was a former PTA president, presi-dent, president and organizer of the Community Concert series, Burley, Ida.; member of the DUP in Burley and Farmington; was an active member of Burley and Farmington Literary clubs; one of the first Silver Sil-ver Gleaners of Idaho. Survivors include children, John H. and Sharon H. Rencher, Salt Lake City; Horace H. and Doris Y. Rencher, Bountiful; Irvine G. and Cherie C. Rencher, Centerville; Clifford L. and Helen R. Rencher, Denver, Colo.; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Sylvia Hughes, Helen Hughes, both MARY JOHANNAH HUGHES RENCHER of Farmington; Naomi Hughes, Logan; Grace Rencher, Salt Lake City; and numerous friends, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by oldest grandson, John. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22 at the Farmington Far-mington 11th Ward, 695 S. 200 E. Friends may call Wednesday evening even-ing 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main, and 11:45-12:45 before services at the church. Interment at Farmington City Cemetery. |
