Several South Davis Community Hospital patients were treated to an annual visit of the Festival of Trees held recently at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. Tuesday night, two van loads of elderly patients were taken on a ride to Christmas Lane, Temple Square and other sites of colorful lights. The annual Yule season tours along with Christmas activities at the facility, 401 S. 400 East, Bountiful are under the direction of the Recreational Therapy Department at South Davis Community Hospital. , -" . , . - - ... . js;;;EW: A i EMT technicians certification course offered in January The South Davis Ambulance ' Association and South Davis Fire District will sponsor an Emergency Medical Technicians Certification course. The course will begin Jan. ' 10 at 6 p.m. and continue each Tuesday and Thursday from 6-10 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the middle of March. Classes Clas-ses will be held at South Davis Fire Station No. 3 at 125 S. Main, Cen-terville. Cen-terville. This course will be taught by physicians, nurses, paramedics and certified instructors and will include topics like: anatomy, CPR, respiratory emergencies, burns, diabetes and many more common emergencies. The course will prepare pre-pare the student for certification, by the state of Utah, as an Emergency Medical Technician. This course is college accredited with nine credit hours available in health science through Utah State University. The student will be expected ex-pected to be an active participant in classroom and practice situations. Anyone desiring to learn these basic lifesaving skills is encouraged encour-aged to enroll in the course. The applicant must be 18 years of age or older by the date of testing. The cost of the course will be $315 which will include textbooks, student packets and testing fees. The applications and a nonrefundable non-refundable deposit must be returned re-turned by Dec. 28.
