Show Lay ton City Council ok's rezone request I By DONETA GATHERUM LAYTON The Layton City council ended the year with a very short council meeting that featured only three items of business. Council approval was given to a rezone request submitted by Robert Stevenson to convert 2.75 acres of property at 2400 North Valley View Drive from an R-S zone to R-1-10 in order to develop a nine-lot subdivision. The adjacent property is zoned R-l-10. There was no opposition to the ; request. Council gave unanimous approval. A public hearing was set for Jan. 19 at 7: 15 p.m. to consider rezoning property at 1940 East Antelope Drive from R-l-10 to R-B. Dennis Freeman, property owner, wants to construct a dentist office on this site.' The surrounding r.rea is residential. re-sidential. Both the planning commission and the city planning staff recommended recom-mended denial of the request because be-cause it is a "spot" zone. Sperry computer property that has been phased out was declared surplus property. The council authorized au-thorized the city manager to dispose dis-pose of the equipment by selling it to the highest bidder or by junking it. |
