Last year the league made special arrangements ar-rangements with all the daily papers of Salt Lake City for publishing advance notices and reports of all meeting! of the j parent-teachers' association. The league; promised to supply each paper full ad- ; vance announcements for Saturday nnd : Sunday editions of all meetings to be held during the following week. We agreed to place copy in the hands of each city, editor on the Friday preceding publica- 1 tion. In every instance where this wa? done all papers gave the league's column 1 choice spai-e In the news nation under the box heading. "Home and School j League." In many cases our copy was accepted on late notice. ' This same agreement has again been entered into between the press and the league and we desire the prompt and hearty co-operation of all concerned, to the end that adequate publicity be glvfrn to the league. We desire, above all, that this be done in such manner as to cause the least trouble to the press. We are, therefore, asking that all advance notices I be mailed to .1. Fred Anderson, chairman . of the publicity committee, 665 Conway i court, at least one week prior to the date of each meeting. ' Already a few parent-teachers meet- J ; ings have been held and advance notices T ; of the same have been sent direct to the A j papers. These have been published In separate paragraphs instead of appearing ; In our column. Inasmuch as the plan herein outlined will not only do most for the league, but will also minimize the work of the newspapers, news-papers, it is hoped that we may have the active support of all officers of local associations. All papers will be glad to have a telephone tele-phone report of each meeting as soon as it is held. In making such reports please call for the city editor and state that you wish to report "a meeting of the ' Parent-Teachers' association." (Signed) J. FRED ANDERSON, Chairman of Publicity Committee. |
