Show MAYS CHOSEN 10 ACT SSJIfli Will Preside at Shafroth Meeting; Merrill to Act When Nortoni Speaks. Congressman James H. Mays was selected se-lected yesterday by the Democratic state committee to serve as chairman of the meeting to be addressed at the Salt Take theater next Tuesday night by Senator John F. Shafroth of Colorado. Dr. Joseph Jo-seph F. Merrill way chosen to serve in a similar capacity at the meeting at the Auditorium theater Thursday night by Judge A. D. Nortoni of Missouri. The committees to receive the distinguished distin-guished visitors also were appointed. The Shafroth reception comniliLee Includes Mathunlhah Thomas, state chairman; R. I:!. Thurnian, S. A. King, C. C. Richards of Ogden, C. A. Carkjulst, D. C. Dunbar and Joseph Monson. The Norton! reception committee is made up of principally Progressives. Judge Nortoni having been at one time the Bull Moose gubernatorial candidate in Missouri. The committee includes Wes-lay Wes-lay K. Walton, A. T. Moon. W. D. Div-ingston. Div-ingston. S. H. Love, Frank Evans, Allen T. Su n ford , George F. Jood win, W. H. Brainel and Hugh A. McMlllin. Members of the Democratic state committee also will serve on the reception committee. Details of the programmes of both events are yet to be worked out. Senator Shafroth will speak at a big Democratic rally at Provo Monday night and will go from here to Ogden, where lie will address ad-dress a Democratic rally Wednesday night. Jerrold R. Letcher, an old friend of Senator Shafroth, will go to Provo Lo moet the Colorado senator. |
