Show HUGHES LUG il 110 STRAW VOTE Closest Presidential Race in Many Years Indicated by Political Poll. NEW YORK, Sept. 00. The New York Herald will tomorrow print the second installment of its political poll forecasting the November vote. The forecast is copyrighted by the Herald and pays: (Copyright, 1916, by the New York j Herald company. All rights reserved.) The second week of the New York Herald's presidential forecast fore-cast showh Mr. Hughes still ahead and by a slightly increased margin, but still nut sufficiently in the lead to justify a prediction on the result of the election. Conditions are changing. People are iust beginuing to make up their minds. The straw votes taken in the next two weeks should give a definite 'indication about what will Jiappen on November 7. No right for the presidency in tho last twenty-eight years at least has at the corresponding stage of the campaign given promise of a closer race. From all that can be gathered from 57,l'iki gfra w votes, talc en in twenty-eight states, the ten southern south-ern states are omitted from the canvass, being solidly Democratic, it appears to be a safe nsserlinti that the Republicans have a bhade the better of the contest just now. The situat ion miht be summarized summar-ized as follows: President Wilson is stronger than his party. Charles K.
