Show OGDEN SUGAR PLANT STARTS WEDNESDAY Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Sept. 30. With more than twenty carloads of beets either unloaded or at the factory, officers of the Amalgamated Amal-gamated Sugar company announced today to-day that the Ogden plant w-ould be put in operation for the season's rim next Wednesday. It was originally planned to start factory fac-tory operations next Monday or Tuesday, Tues-day, but the late arrival of some of the new machinery " made it impossible to open before Wednesday morning. Employees of the field department of the company report that the beets so far harvested are of better quality than those of the past several years. It is also contended that the beets are unusually uniform in quality and size this season. It is expected that the Cache valley plants of the Amalgamated company at Lewiston and Logan will commence slicing slic-ing beets on Monday, and the Burley, Idaho, plant Wednesday morning. The new plant at Twin Falls, Idaho, probably will not start operations until well along in the month. |
