The use of the United States "Royal Cord" tires one of the five of the complete com-plete line of automobile tires made by the United States Tire company was one of the principal factors which enabled en-abled the Hudson Super-Six to capture the transcontinental record. The "Royal Cord" tires on which this record was made came through the whole distance of 3459 miles with what experienced expe-rienced road drivers call a perfect record. rec-ord. The three men ' who drove, the car each made the statement, when asked, "No tire trouble whatsoever." Duriug the entire trip there were but three minor mi-nor punctures, which were easily and quickly repaired and caused no delay. Considering the poor road conditions and tt continuous running of the car day and night, this record of no tire trouble from the Atlantic to the Pacific, at an average of slightly under thirty miles an hour, is a phenomenal accomplishment. accom-plishment. The route taken on this world's record rec-ord run was San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Omaha, Chicago, Cleveland, Buffalo, Buf-falo, Albany and New York City. The total elapsed time was five day's, three hours and thirty-one minutes, breaking the previous world's record by fourteen hours and fifty-nine . minutes. O. S. Tweedy, assistant general sales manager of the United States Tire company, in commenting on this wonderful "Royal Cord ' record, said: :I firmly believe that the reason for the remarkable dependability of "Royal Cords," as exemplified in this record run, is due entirely to the exclusive cord construction employed em-ployed in our, "Royal Cord" tires. This highly satisfactory performance perform-ance is only a corroboration of the day-in-an d-d ay-out service records which "Royal Cords" have delivered deliv-ered on the thousands of cars now in daily use. W. S. Thoebald, local' manager of the United States Tire company, i',50 South State street, was in San Francisco when the winning par arrived in New York.
