Show 7 mm woi on THE ill FLAT Compressor Giving Excellent Excel-lent Results and Tunnel Being Cleaned Up. Excellent progress is being made in putting the Mineral Flat Mining company com-pany 's property, located in the American Ameri-can Fork district, in condition to carry to completion the campaign of development develop-ment work that has been outlined, according ac-cording to Mine Manager J. C, Jensen, who was in Salt Lake yesterday. The compressor is giving good results and is supplying sufficient air for all purposes. pur-poses. One shift is employed at present and the work being done consists of putting the long tunnel into working shape. Several portions of the tunnel were in a caved condition. This was not of a serious nature, but in order to render the property safe for the miners the caved ground is being removed and re- timbered. It is at a point about 20U0 r feet from the portal, and it is expected that this work will be completed in a short time. Following the completion of this work the management will start miners driving driv-ing the main tunnel ahead, the objective objec-tive being to cut the middle limestone member, which is a gray limestone, soluble, solu-ble, and the formation in which the ore is known to occur. This limestone formation for-mation will be cut by one of the principal prin-cipal ore-bearing fissures at the point where the fissure intersects it. Men will also be started to driving the crosscut to the east that was started at a point about 1500 feet from the portal, por-tal, and the objective of which is to explore the overthrust I contact also known as the Cardiff contact. At a point about 1200 feet from the portal a crosscut was also Btarted to the west for the purpose of exploring the territory terri-tory lying below the Brockbank tunnel. This tunnel will be opened by a raise driven up for about 187 feet from the crosscut. This will make possible the prospecting of the ore stringers that have been cut. The crosscut will also be driven ahead to explore the west contact. |
