Show SAYS WENDOVER IS SAFE FOR WILSON In a letter received at Democratic state headquarters yesterday, Joseph Conley of Wendover declares that the Wendover district is safely Democratic and then proceeds to give his views, of the Hughes campaign in a manner that made an impression at headquarters. Hia estimate of Mr. Hughes and his campaign, in brief, follows: I desire to call attention to a -phase of Hughes's campaign at Akron, Ohio, September 2d. Hughes states the catastrophe of civil "war lies along the lines of the Adamson bill. To which his narrator adds " Hughes fears civil war may again come. " Let no one be deceived. Hughes is, by a '( negative progress," preparing pre-paring the minds of the people for civil strife. For the first time in fifty years has any candidate even remotely hinted at civil war in any campaign. I say again, let no one be deceived. de-ceived. Hitches represents canital-ism canital-ism and Wilson represents all the people. Right well does the thinking class know Hughes's designs to antagonize an-tagonize labor against itself. Eight well does he know, if elected, he can array labor against itself, to wit: The government backing one side; principle backing the other, and capital against both and only by this shrewd process can capital occupy the throne again in America. Amer-ica. Honest capital is given every inducement in-ducement under Wilson that should be given under any administration, and the time will come when we will wonder how we tolerated the political principles indorsed by Hughes so long. |
