Show Black Will Present Roosevelt's Name Former Governor of Empire State to Hake Principal Nominating Speech at Chicago Convention. WASHINGTON, May 5. It was announced an-nounced at the White house today to-day that former Gov. Frank S. Black of New York would make the "principal speech ln nominating President Roosevelt at the Chicago convention. con-vention. He will be followed by several delegates with seconding speeches, one of which will be delivered by Harry SUIwell Edwards, the well known author au-thor and writer, of Macon, Ga. At this time, however, it has not been determined deter-mined definitely who will deliver Lheso speeches. Concrete results of the scries of political po-litical conferences held at the White House during the past week have not been reached on several op the important impor-tant topics under discussion. It was said today by authority that the conferences con-ferences held are only 'the beginning of many that will be held from time to time before the Chicago convention. The expectation is that a decision regarding re-garding the chairmanship of the Republican Re-publican National committee will be reached before the convention assembled, assem-bled, but that It has not been reached yet it Is asserted positively. The President has adhered to his determination de-termination announced months ago not to permit himself to be drawn into any contest that might arise over the nomination nomi-nation of a candidate for the Vice-Presidency.
