Show HOPPER WILL COME WITH SPEEDY MOTOR Manager Heagrcn of the Salt Palace cyclo track, received a letter yesterday from N. F. Hopper, tho speedy cyclist who rode at the saucer last summer, in which Hopper states that ho will reach Salt Lake within a few days. Hopper intends in-tends to remain here during tho summer and mix with tho speed merchants at the Salt Palace track. Hopper etatea that ho will bring with him a motor that will be the fastest ever seen here. The pace-making machine was especially constructed for "Hop" last winter win-ter In Denver, and has plenty of speed. Heagrcn Is also in communication with Jimmy Bowler, who Is now riding In Chicago, Chi-cago, and Bowler promises to corno hero to ride. A number of tho local cyclists nnd others who have .wintered hero are working out dally at the saucer. Among them are Billy Samuelson. Saxon Williams. Baldv Staver, Eddio Smith. Jim Gunn and about fifteen amateura. Tho track was somewhat damaged by tho heavy atorms of tho past winter and a force of carpenters Is now at work repairing re-pairing tho Injured surfaces. The first meet will occur on May so, thc weather permitting. |
