Asa B. j Kennon, secretary and treasurer of the NeWport-Nevada Mining company, arrived ar-rived from Newport, R. I., yesterday en route to Deer Lodgo, Nov., where he will look inlo the operations and developments de-velopments of the Homcstake mine, owned by the company. i. J a Reports received hore today from Pl-oche Pl-oche not only corroborate the finding of a great chute of lead-sliver ore in the tunnel of the Yuba East, but go to show that the first reports did not begin to properly describe the Importance of the strike. Tho proven vein for two hundred hun-dred feet In length has widened fr-om eighteen Inches to two feet in width, showing values of more than .100 ounces In silver al one end as far as exploration explora-tion has progressed and up to -100 ounces at the other end, where the initial strike was made. Every day is bringing bring-ing forth news of fresh strikes at Pl-ochc Pl-ochc and the revivification of the old bonanza days Is not an Iridescent dream and this camp is surely destined to mark another epoch in the history of "Western mining. i a II. Word was brought here yesterday yester-day by several experienced mining men vvho had Just come from that camp, and ore exhibited in proof of their assertions as-sertions which goes to show that the true richness of that camp has never reached the public and when the facts are disclosed there is every reason to believe that a stampede of prospectors and Investors not unlike that which attended at-tended the first finds at Tonopah, will ensue. Ore running several hundred dollars gold per ton Is getting to be a common find in several of the properties prop-erties there. Matters are shaping up for an'actlve season of mining In the immediate vicinity vi-cinity of Modena. Work on the Desert Wonder, Monitor.
