Show GOODYEAR COMPANY raw scouts Fifty Boys of Akron, O., 1 Organization on Long Motor Hike. Traveling by day and camping by night, like the pioneers who crossed the western plains with their "prairie schooners," fifty boy scouts left Akron, Ohio, Tuesday, June 25,' on a motor hike through New York and the New England states, in a 1'leet of motor trucks deflected de-flected for that purpose from the Akron-Boston Akron-Boston express line of tho Goodyear Tire & Rubber company. The fifty lucky scouts were selected from the 2000 scouts of the city for their general proficiency in scout craft. Each is an honor scout the representative of his particular troop. The tour will take about eighteen days and will carry the boys through many of the interesting historical sections of tho east. Tho first stop on the "hike" is Niagara Kails. From this point the route runs through Syracuse and Utica to Albany, Al-bany, whre it bears north, passing Lake George and Lake Cham plain to Platts-burg, Platts-burg, then through northern Vermont, the White mountains of New Hampifre and the pine forests of Maine to Portland. Port-land. The return leads through Boston, Providence. New Haven. West Point, Bingharnlon, Elmira, Ithaca and Youngs-town. Youngs-town. Teaches Americanism. A scenario has been written outlining out-lining the outstanding features of the Americanization of our youth.
