Show CADILLAC IS Ee I yp io stsi ! I Need for Radical Departures Depar-tures Is Found Unnecessary. Unneces-sary. Early and continued devotion to'the principle of standardization of all parts of the power plant and body of the Cadillac Cad-illac automobiles, lias resulted in this automobile bein one of the very few cars on the market which appear, year after year, without notable changes. The fact that the Cadillac has proved so universally satisfactory in every respect re-spect is based on the standardiza tion of the car, such alterations of line and finish as are necessary to keep up with the trend of motor car fashion being made as the ears are placed on the market mar-ket each succeeding season. Such is thi) case this year in the closed models, which are becoming more and more popular for touring purposes. "The eighteenth year of producing Cadillac cars does not see any. important impor-tant changes from the previous model, which served as the standard seveu-passenger seveu-passenger ear of the army," said Fred Sharman, manager of the tiharman Automobilo company, distributors of Cadillacs and Oakland Sensible Six cars in this territory. "The eight-cylinder power plant introduced by the Cadillac Motor Car company in 1914 is, of course, retained. More than 75,000 cars with tins type of engine have been sold. " The prevailing tendency to use closed cars for touring purposes is largely responsible, however, for some refinements in the new series Cadillac Sedans and Victorias. In the Victoria model storage space lias been increased bv furnishing tire irons at the rear for two extras, the rumble compartment entered through a lid in the top being now available for storing luggage. Redesign Re-design of the interior widens the rear seat and increases the comfort in the driver's seat. The auxiliary folding seat which faces forward, is upholstered uphol-stered and provided with arm rests. Pour persons are seated in complete comfort. "The most notable structural change in the Four Door Sedan is the full front seat, providing more comfort for long drives than the former bucket seats. Emergency 6cats have been abandoned. Tn both the Sedan and Victoria models the bod' corners, windows and roof lines have been squared a trifle and straightened, reflecting trimly the tendency ten-dency of present body styles." |
