Show Utah Infant 1 May Be First War Orphan Tl O UTAH may come the distinction distinc-tion of having the first war orphan. He is Millau F. Gledh.ill. the infant son of Herbert F Gled-hill, Gled-hill, who v.-as killed in Franc?, June 14, 1918. The infant, boy's mother died at Sigurd, Utah, November 3, 1917. Recently Tlie Tribune published an article stating that the National Red Cross would give a considerable sum of money to the first war orphan. John B. McMillan of Sigurd, Si-gurd, grandfather and guardian of the infant, called at the local Red Cross office yesterday and filed an application for his grandson as the probable first, orphan of the war. Mr. McMillan said that the father of the child left Sigurd for war seiyice November 3, 1917, and ar- rived in France December 25, 1917. He was soon in action and made the supreme sacrifice in June of last year. |
