Show DISCUSS SIZE OF RHINELAND ARMY PARIS, July 26. The size of the force required for the occupation of the Rhine-land Rhine-land under the terms of the German peace treaty, was a question under consideration considera-tion by the supreme council at today's session. For the present, it is said, a force of 150,000 men Is likely to be considered con-sidered necessary on the left bank of the Rhine. The organization of the military expedition expedi-tion for the occupation of Silesia, during the taking of the plebiscite there, also was discussed by the council. The participation par-ticipation of American troops in this work, however, depends upon ratification of the peace treaty, it is pointed out, as in case of unfavorable action, there no longer would exist a reason for the presence of Americans with the allied troops. In any case, it is considered probable that the proportion of Americans in the expedition will be comparatively small. |
