Show HOME RUN IN NINTH I GIVES LAYTON GAME Special to The Tribune. LAYTON', July 20. This afternoon, at the Layton ball park, the I ayton club defeated de-feated the Brigbam City Pctu-hes, 4 to 3. The game was fast and exciting and proved to be the best seen on the local grounds this year. The pitchers' duel between Williams, for the home club, and Shipley, for the visitors, was one of the big features of the game. Williams striking strik-ing out twelve men and Shipley doing almost al-most us well. Both pitchers were given excellent support by their teammates.
