Doug-las. , "Monk's" sire and dam were both blue-ribbon champions from the original old English breed controlled by a breeders' association which breeds nothing but these dogs. They are relatively rela-tively rare in the United States. "Monk" was given to Captain Jones by an English friend when only five weeks old, which was four years ago, and he has been a family pet since then. He has lost practically all of his teeth and is unable to oat solid food; therefore, his daily rations consist con-sist tif soup and bread and milk. This breed of do? make excellent watch dogs and are very loyal, especially espe-cially to children. |
