Show Architectural rarities at LDS museum SALT LAKE CITY-A section of the old baptismal font from the Logan Temple, dedicated in 1884, and other early architectural rarities are now on display in the new historical exhibit in the Museum of Church History and Art. The cast iron font, painted to look like gold, was removed from the Logan Temple when it was remodeled in the early 1980s. The museum received all 12 of the oxen upon whose backs the font rested, but only four are shown in the exhibit, ex-hibit, according to Paul L. Anderson, Ander-son, museum exhibit designer. Of particular interest, Anderson said, is the ornate iron work shown on the oxen and on the metal fence that was around the font. |
