"The fans really helped the team," said coach Allen Porter. "It sounded like there were a thousand people in the stands. We were really nervous the first part of the game. We probably spent 10 seconds of the first twenty minutes on their end of the field We were down 1-0, and things were not looking good," he said. Assisted by Eric Emmons, Brian Kynaston scored the first goal for the Darts. "It was a very important goal for us. They were completely outplaying us, yet we had just tied the game, and with the roar of the crowd it really changed the momentum. momen-tum. Somehow at critical points in the game we came through," said Porter. The first half ended tied 1-1. In the second half Kynaston knocked the ball down and Emmons scored. Then Kynaston took the ball downfield and Emmons headed it in. "That was really a great goal," said Porter. Skyline fought desperately to come back and continued to outplay the Darts. But defensive players Troy Dedecker and Ryan Roberts assisted goalie Brad Bodily with some great defensive play to hold back the onslaught. T Skyline was outshooting Davis 5-1 but Bodily was not letting them go in. "Our goalie saved us," said Porter. Bodily blocked a penalty kick and several point blank heart stopping shots. "Skyline's kid 20 was killing us, he was running by us like we weren't there. So we marked him up with Dedecker and Roberts, and they shut him down. He never touched the ball after that," said Porter. With minutes left to play the score was 3-2 with Skyline chomping chomp-ing at the bit.
