Show Bountiful East Stake history published generously provided thumbnail sketches of their life histories. This section is laced with a wealth of photographs. Dozens of stake leaders were recruited to write articles on the major programs and projects of the stake. This procedure provides authenticity and a special flavor to the book. An interesting write-up, with pictures, pic-tures, of each of the buildings and properties of the stakes helps round out the stake history. The epilogue presents a revealing contrast between the past and the future, pointing out impacts and possible effects the stake has had on its members, and looks forward to the exciting future with its positive and bright potential. The appendix is a large potpourri of outstanding items; a 25-year summary of changes, issues and problems; a short temple history; maps, charts and graphs, supporting concepts of the epilogue; listings of all stake leadership, including stake boards and Melchizedek Priesthood leadership at the ward level; summary sum-mary of participants in stake plays; poetry and prose; miscellaneous personal histories and some faith promoting events. It is an engrossing engross-ing section. "Life is a grand adventure. Our personal histories are important to us and to our posterity, and the history of our stake will have a place of great importance in our lives as well," said one stake member. "And death hath come upon our fathers, never-the-less, we know them...for a book.. we have written. (Moses 6:45-46) This book is designed to supplement supple-ment personal histories and should be kept with other journals and books of remembrances. Todd, 1952 S. 700 E., Bountiful, Utah 84010. Stake president for the past ten years, F. Weldon Thacker, organized organiz-ed a committee to develop a 25-year history of the Bountiful Utah East Stake. This 25-year period encompasses encom-passes the administrations of presidents presi-dents Rendell N. Mabey, D. Hatch Howard, Duane B. Welling and F. Weldon Thacker. After three and a half years of intense in-tense effort by many dozens of people peo-ple and with participation by hundreds hun-dreds of others, this history is n earing ear-ing completion. The book, of well over 500, -Vi" x 11" pages, including over 75 pages of photos, should be published pub-lished during the coming month of June. It will have a dark blue hard cover with gold-filled lettering and line drawing of the stake center. A prologue chronicles the events from 1847 to 1963, leading to the development de-velopment of the Bountiful East Stake; later to become the Bountiful Utah East Stake. A 25 year-by-year summary of stake events is intermingled with general church events, local, national and international news events to give it a special interest and tie-in to the lives of everyone involved.
