Symphony orchestra L plans May concert at Roy High School LAYTON An exciting symphony sym-phony orchestra concert is slated for May 25, 7:30 p.m. at Roy High School Auditorium and will feature talented musicians, Alisa Rey on harp, Kay Kilgore on clarinet and concert master, Nancy Johnson. The New American Symphony Orchestra, which originated through the sponsorship of the Layton Arts Council, is a regionally based community orchestra conducted by Dr. Michael A. Palumbo. The orchestra will present an especially es-pecially exciting program, which will feature Schubert's "Unfinished Symphony' Beethoven's 'Coriolanus Overture,' ' Ravel's "Pavane for a Dead Princess' and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Capriccio Espagnol." "The 'Capriccio Espagnol' is a real challenge, technically and in-strumentally, in-strumentally, for any symphony orchestra," or-chestra," said manager Doug Swenson. "We are very fortunate to have fine musicians and a con ductor with the capability of performing per-forming music of this difficulty. Additionally, what makes this orchestra or-chestra special is that no one is paid and that the members are performing perform-ing simply because of their love of music. ' ' The orchestra is comprised of the finest musicians available from nearly all the communities along the Wasatch Front The cost for admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased pur-chased at the Layton Heritage Museum, Mu-seum, 403 N. Wasatch Drive, Wednesday through Sunday, 1-5 p.m., or at Major Chord Music at the Fort Lane Shopping Plaza, 106 S., or that evening at the door. Families are encouraged to attend; at-tend; however, babies or small children under four could become abstractive. All tickets are for general gen-eral seating and sold by donation.
