(f, i:t Tolman Elementary students and parents enjoyed a night of listening to favorite stories told by Michael George, Mr. Scruggs, Gov. Norman Bangerter, David Barlow and Holly Cook. Tolman students delight in celebrities' stories Michael George, who knew the guests, helped out by introducing them. Each of the guests was presented with one of the 1990 Utah Book Award nominees by students who had read all 20 of the nominated books. They were Shon Hawkes, Kevin Peterson, Linda Kay Schiff-man Schiff-man and Mark Peterson. Thanks to the help of everyone who participated, the evening was a great success. The stars were out at Tolman Elementary, as students and parents enjoyed an evening together as part of National Library Month and Library Media Week. Tolman Elementary invited four guests to come and read favorite childhood stories to students and parents on a Night of a Thousand Stars. Guest star readers were Gov. Norm Bangerter, who read a favorite Dr. Seuss book; Bud Scruggs, the governor's chief of staff, who added a French accent to the story of Louis Pasteur in 'Believing in Yourself." Viewmont student body president, presi-dent, David Barlow, shared his favorite cliildhood story "The Giving Giv-ing Tree ' ; and B ronze Medal skater, Holly Cook, delighted listeners with "Yummers.
