Altogether, the affair was a pleasaut one and will long be remembered re-membered by all present. Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Niomcth enter tained a small company of friends at a watch party Thursday evening. Dainty i refreshments wore served and a happy time was had by all present. I Mr. and Mrs. Fred Morgan enter- - tnincd at a daintily appointed 6 o'clock 1 1 dinner on Friday. A mound of pink I roses adorned the center of the board, with th loose flowers scattered over the cloth. The place cards wero pink roses done in water colors. Pink caudles and shades added greatly to the charming charm-ing effect. Those who enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Morgan's hospitality were Miss I Harriet Baker. Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Lighted candelabra with red shades, placed at either end of the board, completed' the dainty effect. Covers were laid for eight. Miss Gertrude McLaughlin was hostess at a charming attornooa party given on Thursday "in compliment to the "Merry Widows." The rooms were bright with yellow and white chrysanthemums chrysan-themums in a candy contest, prizes awarded to Miss Tessio Beggs and Miss Ada Kimball. The charmine hostess, were awarded to Miss Tossie Beggs an.d Miss Ada Kimball. The charming hostess, host-ess, assisted by her sistor, Miss Tessie, and Frances B. Shields, served dainty refreshments at 5 o'clock. Those who enjoyed the pleasant event were Misss Tessio Beggs. Ada Kimball, Bhea Biley, Lila Farrel of Salt Lake, and Nona Hurley. Hur-ley. Miss Fern Lewis entertained a small company of young people at a watch part' Thursday evening. Games, music and light refreshments were enjoyed. France's B. Shields was given a surprise sur-prise party Thursday evening, when a number of her friends camo in to watch the old year out and usher in the new. A special meeting of tho Woman's Athoneum was held at the home of tho secretary, Mrs. L. B. Wight, on Mpn day afternoon.- Tho regular meeting will bo held at the homo of Mrs. John Diem, Monday, Jan. 4, 1909. The young men members of the M. T. club gave a houso warming on Friday, Jan. 1. A number of tho parents and friends called during the day. Tho rooms were prettily decorated with pennants, pen-nants, Christmas bells, carnations and runners of evergreen. Miss Frances Fargo has returned to her studies at Bowland hall, after spending the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Fargo. Miss Mabel Carpenter goes to tho city Sunday afternoon to resume her studies at the University of "Utah. Mrs. N. B Hampton and little daughter, daugh-ter, Adelaide, returnod to Bowland hall, Suuda' evening, whero Mrs. Hampton is .employed as a teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Welsh returned from tho metropolis Monday morning, after a week's visit with Mr. and Mrs. James Ivors.
