Show F. 11. McGUBEIN. W. V. IIOAEE. !VH. fcGurrin is one of the best golf pla3'ers at the Country club, and for several 3'oars has won the Utah championship. Last year A. W. Copp defeated McGurrin in a close and exciting ex-citing coutcst for the title. The above is a favorite position of McGurrin and in the act of making a long drive. W. V. Tloaro. formerly of the Royal North Devon Westward Ho Golf club of England, is the instructor at tho. Country club. Ho is ono of tho best players in tho United States, aud holds the record for tho longest drivo mado over the greens. In 1902 Uoare drove one of the old gutta .percha balls a' I distance of .'U0 yards in competition at I Baltimore. In 1907 Hoaro finished ! fourth in tho open for the champion-1 champion-1 ship, and last 3'ear lie finished fifth at Miopia. Ho also holds the record at the Countr3' club, making the rounds of nine holes in 31 strokes. A. W. Copp, who won the 1003 championship here, has gone over the course in 35 ntrokos. Iloarc is not allowed io pla-in pla-in the championship events at the Country Coun-try club. |
