Shaw of Barley will land tho secretaryship of the upper house. . Tho Republicans are now in caucus, and the above will be about the result of tho meeting. Tho slato evidently has the approval of tho party machine. It is said four Democrats Cummerford, Bungs and Mackintosh of Latah and Taylor of Custer counties havo lined up with the Clagslone forces and agreed to support the latter for speaker for a consideration in the way of support for pome Democratic proposition that will bo brought before the legislature. Tho Republican opponents of Clagstone have brought C. A. Foresman of Nez Perce county out for speaker, and arc doing some hard work for their man. Parsons of Tdaho and Thompson of Canyon Can-yon counties have withdraw from the race for the speakership. Tho senatorial situation is 3-ct very much mixed, nnd considerable anxict)' is manifested by the lloyburn people here and over tho stale.
