Show THE EMIGRATION EMIGRA-TION CANYON RAILROAD Ainoim the enterprises that have been pushed forward during the year, none is more valuable to Salt Lake City than tho Emigration Canyon MIcctric railroad, which was built to connect the city with this beautiful summer retreat. Excellent passenger service will be maintained during l)ie months of May to November. 'Iho road is now built from its depot grounds on tho corner of Fifth South and Tliirleeulh East, thence in an eastern direction up tho canyon to the headwaters, a distance of some fourteen miles. Thrro will be a branch lino running on Twenty-first; East streot through hast Mill creek to Holliday. A large part of the company's income in-come will conio from the hauling of slouo from tho immense quarries of the company. There is a largo deposit of red anil white sandstone that is being extensively used in building operations. This immense mountain of stouo lies at the head of the canyon. This beautiful canyon has many historic his-toric associations and it is noted tor its beautiful scenery. This spot is rapidly springing into favor as u residence sec-tiou sec-tiou and many prominent Salt Lako people are buying land there for tho orcctiou of summer homos, and there is. no more ideal retreat to be found in tho country. It is hoped by tho public that people' owning land in that section will too the advisability of soiling portions of it for residence purposes at figures within reach of the purse of people who dciire to erect summer homes. 1 - I |
