Tho matter was then dropped, but Mr. Godman is in earnest this time nnd wili enforce the law to the letter, he declares. k To prevent overcharging tho collector is going to havo tho rates printod upon a large curd aud posted in owry- depot, hotel, rooming house and ticket office in the city. The rates also will be printed upon a smaller card, which will be placed in all thn licensed cabs- The rates range from fifty cents a mile for u jungle passenger to 'f'S a dav. The penalty for violations of the ordinance is a fino of not more than $100 or imprisonmont in tho city jail for 100 days, or both such fine and imprisonment.
